What’s your relationship with debt? Is it something you avoid at all costs, something you casually swipe through, or something you’ve learned to manage with confidence?
In this episode of Wealth Para Todos, I break down the three most common debt personalities I see in my coaching work—because when it comes to debt, it’s not just about the numbers. It’s about the emotions, habits, and beliefs behind them. And understanding your own pattern is the first step toward building wealth without sacrificing wellness.
This persona avoids debt like the plague, often equating borrowing with failure. “No Debt Noa” budgets like a pro and avoids unnecessary spending, but their aversion to debt can lead to deprivation, delayed growth, and missed opportunities.
I’ve been “No Debt Noa”—paying cash for everything, including a $10,000 business coach, when I could’ve leveraged a 0% interest card. At the time, I lacked the skills and mindset to see debt as a tool. My desire to avoid interest came from fear, not strategy.
“Swipe Now Sammy” is all about getting through the moment. They use debt frequently but without a clear plan to repay it. This personality is hopeful—but overwhelmed, disconnected from their numbers, and often stuck in a cycle of avoidance and shame.
I’ve had my own “Sammy” season—especially in my business. I was outsourcing everything, thinking it was an investment, when really, I was avoiding responsibility. I didn’t need a CFO. I needed a money coach. The debt wasn’t the issue. My avoidance was.
“Leveraging Luna” treats debt as a tool—used with intention, calm, and a clear plan. They aren’t afraid to borrow, but they do it with clarity, compassion, and confidence.
Today, I finally feel like I’ve stepped into my “Luna” era—running the numbers before borrowing, using debt strategically, and letting my investments grow while planning ahead. It took years, but I’m here. And you can get here too.
